Wildlife biologist Rosie Moore shared an Instagram video Sept. 15 showing two captive alligators in the Everglades eating a dead male Burmese python donated as food. The snake measured about 14 to 15 feet, and the alligators quickly snapped it up.
Moore said the alligators usually eat chicken and fish. After she tossed in the snake, each took a chunk to a separate side of the enclosure; she compared the behavior to dogs guarding food.
