BuzzFeed revisits 28 celebrities’ accounts of past conduct, from Jackie Chan’s account of throwing his two-year-old son to Anthony Hopkins’s blackout driving and Will Smith’s recollection of considering, then rejecting, killing his father.
Hopkins said a 1975 blackout while driving in California made him realize he was an alcoholic; he stopped drinking after the episode and said he has been sober for decades. Ozzy Osbourne recalled being arrested on an attempted-murder charge; Sharon Osbourne said he lunged at and choked her before she pressed a panic button. Other entries include Ice-T saying he tried pimping when younger and 50 Cent recalling selling drugs as a teenager.
Some entries include the subjects’ own qualifications or another person’s account. Cardi B said she had drugged and robbed men, then later said they were conscious and willing, and that she did not glorify the conduct. Charlamagne Tha God’s wife said she was conscious during an encounter he questioned as rape, rejected that label, and said sex while intoxicated raised a rape-culture issue; he later apologized for his wording.
