Early lookahead lines list BYU as a 5.5-point road favorite for its Oct. 3 game at TCU. It is the Cougars’ smallest spread as a favorite so far; they were 6.5-point home favorites against Arizona and have covered in all three games.
BYU is 3-0 and off this weekend; TCU, 2-1, plays its Big 12 opener at UCF on Saturday. The Oct. 3 game is scheduled for 5 p.m. Mountain Time on ESPN or ESPN2. BYU beat TCU 44-13 in Provo last year, ending a five-game losing streak in the series.
TCU’s top receiver, Jordan Dwyer, is set to make his season debut against UCF after missing the first three games with an injury; he had 730 receiving yards and seven touchdowns last season. Starting quarterback Jaden Craig struggled against UNC in the opener but has thrown for more than 300 yards in each of his past two games.
