A 30-minute Gamescom demo puts NEO BERLIN 2087’s visuals on show

CGMagazine

At Gamescom 2026, CGMagazine played a 30-minute demo of Elysium Game Studio’s indie NEO BERLIN 2087, praising its detailed visuals and crime-scene investigation, including reliving victims’ final hours, but finding combat low-stakes; it is planned for 2028.

Players take the role of Nolan, investigating a conspiracy in a walled, high-tech Neo Berlin. The game’s Steam description depicts a society where access to cybernetic technology depends on class, while malfunctioning robots threaten people in the surrounding wastelands.

The demo’s scanner was needed to find some clues and items. Combat took place in simulations of victims’ final hours; the reviewer said dying simply restarted the sequence and that the wider gameplay loop still needed to be seen. The demo encouraged stealth, while running out of ammunition proved deadly.
