Wydaho Roasters owner Jim Sheehan asked anti-abortion activist Kristan Hawkins and her group to meet elsewhere in August. The Idaho Statesman reported that cafe sales that weekend were more than double the business’s previous record.
Hawkins posted video of the exchange on TikTok. In it, Sheehan said he and his wife opposed the group’s views, suggested a public library and asked that the group not meet at the cafe again. The video drew about 24,000 comments. Sheehan told the Statesman customers from across the country were ordering products, leaving him unable to keep up with shipping.
The article says Sheehan and his wife were apparently doxxed, and the cafe received angry calls, including death threats. Staff reportedly turned off the phones as the situation escalated.
