With Puka Nacua expected to miss another game, the Rams’ preview says Terrance Ferguson could be key against Denver after his six catches, 54 yards and touchdown in Week 2. It also says the Rams’ defense should hold the Broncos to 30% or fewer on third downs.
Against the Giants, Ferguson caught six of nine targets and had a 29% target share, according to Sharp Football Analysis. He ran 40% of his snaps from the slot and drew seven targets there, including his touchdown. The preview says his athleticism against linebackers or size against smaller cornerbacks could create favorable matchups.
The preview says Denver ranked 29th in the NFL on third-down conversions at 26.1%. The Rams allowed conversions on 58.3% of third downs in Week 1, then 21.4% against the Giants in Week 2.
