Wisconsin beat No. 20 Oregon 3-1 at home Thursday in its Big Ten opener, recovering from a 26-24 first-set loss to win the next three and extend its winning streak to three. Freshmen Audrey Flanagan and Decelise Champion led the Badgers with 19 and 16 kills.
Oregon led 22-15 in the third set before Wisconsin mounted a 7-1 run. Two straight kills by Champion tied the set at 24, and Oregon attack errors gave Wisconsin the set. The Badgers then closed out the match with a 10-2 run in the fourth, winning 25-14.
The win moved Wisconsin to 7-4 and marked its fifth straight home victory. Jaela Auguste had seven blocks, while setter Charlie Fuerbringer recorded 50 assists, eight digs, four blocks and two aces. Wisconsin visits No. 10 Purdue on Sunday, with first serve scheduled for 3 p.m. on Big Ten Network.
