Kentucky quarterback Kenny Minchey completed 14 of 18 passes for 252 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday’s win over a top-10 Texas A&M team. Coach Will Stein said Wednesday that Minchey bounced back from a tough Alabama outing and praised his growth.
Against Alabama, Minchey completed 18 of 31 passes for 136 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Stein said better protection against Texas A&M helped Minchey see the field and get the ball out quickly. He also attributed an early sack more to Minchey than the offensive line, saying the quarterback should have released the ball.
Minchey has made three career starts and is still learning Stein’s offense and becoming more comfortable in it.
