The White House TV pool resumed filming after a federal judge ordered CNN, MS Now and Politico’s access restored for two weeks while their case proceeds. Its stoppage had left major presidential events without pool footage during the UN General Assembly.
The pool stopped recording Monday in solidarity with CNN, MS Now and Politico, which Trump had barred from the White House. Leading networks had no pool video of Trump’s summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping; ABC held off its scheduled pool shift until it received assurances CNN would be let back in.
Despite the judge’s order Thursday, CNN and MS Now journalists were denied entry to the state dinner for Xi that evening. On Friday, CNN anchor Pamela Brown said the outlet’s access had been restored and the pool appeared to be operating normally; CBS also planned to serve as pooler with a full crew.
