LSU captain Whit Weeks fractured his right leg during Saturday’s 35-6 win over Texas A&M and has no return timetable. CBS Sports reported LSU is optimistic the injury won’t end his season; Weeks left in the third quarter on crutches.
Coach Lane Kiffin said he had not seen this many significant injuries so early in a season. Safety Dashawn Spears suffered a season-ending knee injury at Ole Miss, while tight end Trey'Dez Green is expected back after missing time with a knee injury.
Weeks missed LSU’s final five games of 2025 with an ankle injury that required surgery after the season. In 2024, he dislocated his ankle and fractured his tibia in the Texas Bowl; the current fracture is in the same right leg.
