Vikings and Buccaneers released Week 3 inactive lists: Minnesota named seven players and Tampa Bay six. LB Ivan Pace Jr. is active after reaching Tampa; the Bucs’ first two draft picks, Rueben Bain Jr. and Josiah Trotter, are inactive with injuries.
Minnesota’s inactives are QB J.J. McCarthy (emergency QB), OT Caleb Tiernan, safeties Jakobe Thomas and Tavierre Thomas, P Brett Thorson, CB Zemaiah Vaughn and DL Elijah Williams. Tampa Bay’s list also has OLB Rueben Bain Jr., CB Ayden Garnes, G Luke Haggard, DL Rakeen Nunez-Roches, G Billy Schrauth and LB Josiah Trotter.
On Tampa Bay’s final injury report, Bain was ruled out and Trotter was listed as doubtful; no other Buccaneers players had an injury designation. Pace had missed Minnesota’s trip the previous day for a personal issue before reaching Tampa and being active. The Vikings elevated Tavierre Thomas from the practice squad, then deactivated him. Veteran Johnny Hekker will handle punting and holding with Brett Thorson inactive. Caleb Tiernan and Jakobe Thomas, two of Minnesota’s three third-round picks from April, are still awaiting their NFL debuts.
