Washington State will wear its script Cougars helmets against Arizona on Saturday, returning them for the first time since the 2023 Apple Cup. The helmets will go with crimson jerseys and gray pants; kickoff is 4:30 p.m., with the game airing nationally on CBS.
The script design debuted in 1976, replacing WSU’s old W-State logo. It became the team’s primary helmet from 1988 through 1999, then returned intermittently, including for Apple Cup games in 2018 and 2023.
The look is part of WSU’s Crimson and Gray stripe-out: the student section and even-numbered sections will wear crimson, while odd-numbered sections will wear gray. It will be the 54th different uniform combination WSU has used since 2017.
