Minnesota climbed from 17th to 10th in Yahoo Sports’ post-Week 2 NFL rankings, leading the NFC North at 2-0. Its offense ranks last in league yardage; Kyler Murray, who has played 11 snaps, is expected to return from a concussion in Week 3.
Buffalo remained No. 1, followed by Seattle, San Francisco, the Rams and Cincinnati. Detroit ranked 13th, Chicago 14th and Green Bay 20th. The analysis says Minnesota is best-positioned in the division early, partly because of rivals’ problems, but notes there is much of the season left.
The Vikings held Chicago to three points after the Bears scored 59 in Week 1. Defensive coordinator Brian Flores blitzed Caleb Williams on 27 of 33 dropbacks (81.8%), according to Next Gen Stats; against Green Bay in Week 1, Minnesota blitzed Jordan Love on 40 of 46 dropbacks (86.9%), according to Pro Football Focus.
