Vickie Lynn Williams was found guilty on two first-degree murder counts in the 2022 stabbing deaths of retired Mount Dora couple Darryl, 83, and Sharon Getman, 80. Prosecutors said she fled in their green Kia Soul after taking jewelry and paintings.
WKMG reported, citing authorities, that Williams had asked the couple to use their shower and charge her phone the night before the killings. At trial, her attorneys argued she was experiencing psychosis at the time; WKMG reported that the verdict followed 30 minutes of deliberations.
Prosecutors said Williams was arrested in Savannah, Ga., on Jan. 2, 2023. They have said they will seek the death penalty.
