Ukraine’s Third Army Corps says its aerial and ground drones laid mines over roughly 400 meters (1,312 feet) near Lyman, Donetsk, in two nights during Operation Vivaldi; the corps says human troops would need about two weeks for the same task.
The corps said the drones enabled rapid mining of enemy movement routes and disruption of logistics. Its map placed the mines near Shandryholove, a contested village about six miles northwest of Lyman.
Last week, the corps separately said it had seized roughly 50 square miles around Lyman; few details of Operation Vivaldi have been made public.
