The homeowner said the panels produced roughly similar amounts of electricity but they had paid full Aiko pricing and chose them for their all-black appearance and a shading advantage cited in the Reddit thread. One commenter estimated the price difference could exceed £1,000; that was an estimate, not a confirmed valuation.
The installer showed emails indicating Aikos had been ordered in early August and said the MCS certificate could be updated so export arrangements could proceed. The homeowner had not ruled out seeking replacement; compensation for the price difference or a full replacement were described as possible remedies, but no resolution was reported.
