Trump said Sept. 26 that Chinese President Xi Jinping liked his proposal to call artificial intelligence “superintelligence,” or SI. He said they did not spend much time on AI, and no breakthrough agreement was apparent after their White House summit.
Xi said the U.S. and China should ensure AI development stays under human control. Trump estimated the U.S. was one or two years ahead of China in AI development, said it would not slow its progress and said he did not want to open up the technology while the U.S. was leading.
