President Donald Trump rejected Iran’s latest proposal on Saturday, calling it “unacceptable.” Tehran’s plan offered a swift reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and renewed nuclear talks in exchange for the US lifting its naval blockade and other economic penalties.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the proposal was presented to the US through mediators earlier this week and called for Washington to meet certain conditions within seven days to restart talks and reopen the strait.
