Donald Trump shared a spoof video mocking a CNN reporter after calling anchor Kaitlan Collins “a truly unhappy person.” CNN, POLITICO and MS NOW are suing to regain White House access; their press badges were taken the day after Trump barred them.
The video, originally posted on TikTok by film writer Patrick W. Cutler, shows him dressing in a pink dress and blonde wig and voicing a caricature of a CNN reporter who claims to invent false stories about Trump. Trump reposted it without a caption late Tuesday after spotting Collins at the UN General Assembly in New York.
The outlets’ joint federal lawsuit names Trump and three administration officials, seeks to restore White House access and argues the ban is unconstitutional. The badge removals prompted several major TV networks to withdraw from White House pool duties. Collins said Tuesday she believed a judge would assess the ban the next day and access might return to its prior state; Trump had criticized the judge and suggested he planned to appeal.
