Ford’s Theatre is an operating theater and museum owned by the Interior Department. Its name is set by a federal statute signed by former President Richard Nixon, so changing it would likely require an act of Congress.
Earlier this month, a federal judge blocked the addition of Trump’s name to the Kennedy Center for a second time.
