Tim Tebow puts Life Surge ties on hold as team reviews allegations

Tim Tebow said Friday he is pausing ties with Life Surge, a Christian financial-education company, while his team reviews allegations reported by Pablo Torre Finds Out and Mother Jones. The reporting concerns costly programs sold after events.

The investigation describes one-day events that can lead attendees to $97 three-day Impact Classes and then to substantially more expensive stock-market and real-estate training. Former customers told investigators they felt pressured to spend tens of thousands; some said they used credit cards or home equity to finance training or strategies. Tebow said he learned of the report from his team Thursday and called the allegations “extremely, extremely serious.”

Life Surge rejected central allegations: enrollment is voluntary, financial outcomes aren't guaranteed, fewer than 3% of ticket buyers advance beyond introductory classes, and an advanced program costs about $27,000 over three years. It said representatives are not trained to pressure customers into debt. Tebow said he took part to share his faith; Life Surge says his pay wasn't tied to sales and speakers needn't endorse its products. TMZ reported 2023 audio of Tebow urging class sign-ups to follow through, but it does not establish he knew of the alleged sales practices. Tebow has not been accused of personally defrauding customers.
