Tichina Marshall pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree murder in the 2025 stabbing of a former co-worker at a Danville, Ill., Wendy’s and was sentenced to 12 years in prison. She must serve 85% of the term, then three years of mandatory supervised release.
Prosecutors said Marshall entered the office holding a knife while the victim was speaking with the manager, said, “I am going to kill you,” and stabbed the victim at least three times in the head and face. The victim had a 3-centimeter-deep head wound and a fractured skull. Investigators said Marshall had threatened to kill the former co-worker about a month earlier; surveillance video captured the attack.
The plea deal also dismissed a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Court records cited by local outlet WCIA said both charges had been scheduled for trial beginning Oct. 13.
