All 240 pupils at Thomas Bullock Primary Academy in Shipdham have resumed classes at Letton Hall after a fire damaged their school on 13 August. They spent seven days learning from home, and the school expects to return to its site in temporary classrooms on 2 November.
The blaze was caused by light refracting off a Perspex canopy. While temporary classrooms are built, pupils are using rooms including Letton Hall’s library, dining room and drawing room; some parts of the school site will be demolished.
