No. 1 Texas beat No. 14 Tennessee 20-17 in Knoxville on Saturday, with Raleek Brown scoring both Longhorns touchdowns. The Volunteers recovered an onside kick after a late score, but Texas broke up their final end-zone pass to secure the win.
Arch Manning opened 7-for-7 for 120 yards, and Brown’s first-quarter run put Texas ahead 7-3; a field goal made it 10-3 at halftime. Tennessee tied the game on Qua Moss’s 57-yard punt-return touchdown in the third quarter. Texas answered with a field goal, then Brown scored again.
Tennessee quarterback Faizon Brandon led the Volunteers’ final 10-play, 80-yard touchdown drive, running 16 yards on third-and-12 before throwing a 30-yard score to Matthews.
