Tasheca Stroud was arrested Sept. 16 after deputies found her asleep in a vehicle in a traffic lane with her 1-year-old inside; the child was unharmed. She was charged with driving while intoxicated with a child passenger and criminal mischief.
The constable’s office said Stroud showed several signs of intoxication during standardized field sobriety tests. A records check found four outstanding arrest warrants; Constable Mark Herman said she was also booked on those warrants and her combined bond was $12,500.
District Clerk records show the two felony cases were filed Sept. 16 in the 178th District Court. The DWI case is listed as driving while intoxicated with a child under 15; the criminal mischief charge alleges damage valued between $2,500 and $30,000. The constable’s office did not explain the alleged damage. The charges remain allegations, and court records reviewed for the article showed no disposition in either case.
