Tesla begins Semi deliveries as it targets 50,000-unit annual capacity

Tesla began customer deliveries of its Semi electric truck on Sept. 25, formally entering commercial freight. The truck is designed for a 500-mile range, and management targets annual production capacity of 50,000 units at a new Nevada plant.

The report cites recent fleet orders from PepsiCo and DHL as signs of demand and says the Semi could diversify Tesla’s revenue beyond passenger vehicles. Tesla reported $4.7 billion in operating cash flow in Q2 2026 and exceeded $100 billion in trailing-12-month revenue for the first time.

Management identified battery-pack allocations as a core constraint on volume growth. The report says Tesla had $1.1 billion in negative free cash flow in Q2 2026, driven by elevated spending on AI compute, Megafactories and vehicle production; slower production ramps or higher unit costs could further pressure gross margins.
