Taylor Swift announced a four-song EP, The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, arriving Friday, Sept. 25, with the new single “Patient Zero” and three other tracks: “Cleveland!,” “Pink Clouding” and “Babylon.”
Swift said she and collaborators Max and Shellback wrote the songs in a Swedish studio during a trip to celebrate The Life of a Showgirl. She described the album’s first week as the biggest for an album in history and said the new songs came from gratitude for fans’ enthusiasm. The EP is available to preorder and save.
Fans had speculated after zeros appeared in Swift’s social-media bio and lyrics, and some interpreted phrases in her Emmys sketch cameo as clues to a possible Nov. 10 release of Taylor Swift (Taylor’s Version). Others thought the zeros could signal a future Reputation (Taylor’s Version); Swift had not confirmed either theory.
