Friday’s release of “The Life of a Showgirl: Encore” brought Taylor Swift two 2026 Spotify daily records: she was the most-streamed female artist in a day, and its single “Patient Zero” was the most-streamed song by a female artist in one day so far this year.
The four new tracks are “Patient Zero,” “Cleveland!,” “Pink Clouding” and “Babylon.” Swift said she wrote them with Max and Shellback during a Sweden trip about a year ago, after the original album had what she described as the biggest first week for an album in history. She said the new songs came from gratitude for fans’ response.
Swift is set to debut the “Patient Zero” video at this Sunday’s MTV VMAs, where she is also being honored with the inaugural Artist-Director Award. The video is to feature Swift, Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell, with cinematography by Emmanuel Lubezki.
