Florida coach Jon Sumrall told his players before Saturday’s home game against No. 4 Ole Miss that “great teams have to be player led.” The No. 21 Gators and No. 4 Rebels are both 3-0 entering the Sept. 26 game, which kicks off at 3:30 p.m. ET.
Florida’s three wins came against Florida Atlantic (66-21), Campbell (52-3) and Auburn (44-39). Ole Miss beat Louisville (41-38), Charlotte (41-9) and LSU (32-24).
In his first season as Florida’s head coach, Sumrall is aiming to return the Gators to College Football Playoff contention. He said he shares the player-led message with the team almost daily.
