Brandon Lee Britten and Sierra Dawn Britten were arrested Sept. 9 and face felony charges tied to the abduction and alleged sexual assault of a 12-year-old South Carolina girl. Officers found her at their Arkansas home; she told them she wanted her mother.
Brandon is charged with rape, internet stalking of a child and traveling for the purpose of an unlawful sex act with a minor; Sierra faces accomplice charges for those offenses. South Carolina authorities alerted Independence County officers that the girl might be in the area. According to an affidavit, officers traced a black Chevrolet Malibu with Arkansas plates to Brandon’s home and found the child in a back bathroom, shaking with her face and hands against a wall.
The affidavit says the girl told investigators she met the couple online, believing she was entering a relationship with a 15-year-old boy and that Sierra was his roommate; she alleged Brandon sexually assaulted her after she arrived. Sierra told police first that she believed the girl was 18, then said she thought she was 14. The girl has since been reunited with her parents, and both defendants are held on $1 million bond.
