South Africa have won nine and lost four of their 13 Pink ODIs since 2013. They face Australia in Sunday’s second ODI after winning the opener, wearing pink to raise breast cancer awareness and support care in Johannesburg.
The Pink ODI tradition began in 2013 in collaboration with the McGrath Foundation and was inspired by Sydney’s Jane McGrath Day. Proceeds go to the Breast Care Unit at Charlotte Maxeke Hospital in Johannesburg, helping fund testing, screening and treatment. The initiative has raised nearly R10 million in just over a decade.
