Travis Hunter’s limited role in the Jaguars’ first two games is part of an early-season ramp-up, anonymous Jacksonville sources told The Athletic. A source said a knee injury limited him to seven games as a rookie; he has played 66 snaps at cornerback and 11 on offense.
Cornerback accounted for 58% of Jacksonville’s defensive snaps, with the Jaguars using a rotation at the position. Hunter had one reception for eight yards on offense; on defense, he allowed three catches on four targets for 28 yards, broke up a pass and was penalized once.
One source told The Athletic’s Jonathan Jones that Hunter had played only nine career games and would continue to grow on both sides of the ball. A second said he was doing well but was still working back after a long time without football.
