Jalen Brunson hosted the Season 52 premiere of “Saturday Night Live,” joking that a return to Madison Square Garden would recall Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding there over Fourth of July weekend. Knicks teammates joined him onstage for a light roast.
Brunson also mocked the Knicks’ slow starts during the NBA postseason, saying, “The first three quarters of the show are going to be godawful. The last sketch is going to be amazing.”
Karl-Anthony Towns, Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby and Josh Hart joined Brunson in the crowd and onstage. He appeared in basketball sketches “North High” and “Old Coach.” Brunson was the first Knicks player to host “SNL” and the first active NBA player to do so since LeBron James in 2007; Kenan Thompson played Stephen A. Smith in a cameo.
