Giants running back Cam Skattebo said Jameis Winston looked “great” and took charge at Thursday’s practice as he prepares to start Sunday against the Titans. Jaxson Dart needs knee surgery and is expected to miss the rest of the regular season.
Winston entered Monday’s 28-6 loss to the Rams after Dart was injured and struggled in relief. Skattebo said he and the team were behind Winston and believed he would perform well in the starting role.
Offensive coordinator Matt Nagy said the Giants would need to adjust to Winston’s different style, although they had prepared for multiple offensive styles. Skattebo also said he viewed the possibility of taking on more responsibility with Dart sidelined positively.
