Seafra O’Donovan, a Dublin radio network marketing executive, is on bail after being charged with unlawful possession of cannabis. Customs seized a 5.55kg package from the US addressed to his workplace; officials estimate its value at more than €100,000.
The prosecution is waiting for a forensic scientists’ certificate of analysis. A judge gave gardaí extra time to obtain it, and the case is scheduled to continue in Dublin District Court on December 2. O’Donovan’s defense wants the case tried before a jury.
