On The Fifth Column podcast, CNN commentator Scott Jennings paused for five seconds when asked if Donald Trump and his administration have a corruption problem. He called it a generic question and said he believes Trump’s family follows laws and ethics rules.
Host Matt Welch said the brother of the United Arab Emirates president invested $500 million in World Liberty Financial four days before the inauguration. Welch said the Trump family received $187 million and the Witkoff family $31 million, and that the investment was secret until it became known a year later. He also cited $148 million from selling access to people at a party near the White House.
Jennings said he expected Democrats to scrutinize the matters if they won a majority in either chamber of Congress. He advised those involved to follow laws and regulations, document everything and prepare for scrutiny.
