Scott Barzilla of Battle Red Blog predicts Houston will edge Indianapolis in a close Week 3 game, with a late turnover deciding it. He advises the Colts to target the Texans’ defensive interior with Jonathan Taylor, stop Houston’s run and pressure C.J. Stroud.
Through two games, Stroud was averaging nearly 314 passing yards per game, completing 60.2% of his passes and throwing two touchdowns. Barzilla said Houston had been pass-heavy because it was playing from behind, and cited a weak running game, communication breakdowns and five drops in the previous game as problems; he said the drops hurt Stroud’s completion rate.
Barzilla said Houston had won the previous five meetings with Indianapolis and predicted a sixth straight win. He identified Calen Bullock or Jalen Pitre as possible defensive playmakers and said he expected Marlin Klein to make a key catch or two with the Texans’ receiving group undermanned.
