The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen said early Saturday it intercepted two drones launched by the Houthis toward Riyadh. It gave no further details; Saudi civil defence issued overnight alerts for Khamis Mushait and Abha, but not the capital.
In a post on X, the coalition said it was monitoring a missile threat and drones launched at the kingdom. Reuters says the Houthis have attacked Saudi Arabia since declaring a naval blockade against Riyadh in July, targeting Saudi vessels in the Red Sea as well as cities, energy infrastructure and shipping. The attacks put the Red Sea route for Gulf exports at risk while traffic through the Strait of Hormuz remains largely blocked.
