Justin Verlander will make the final start of his Hall of Fame career for Detroit on Saturday, facing Pittsburgh in Game 2 of the Tigers’ final series at Comerica Park. First pitch is set for 1:10 p.m. ET.
Detroit opened the final series with an 8-7 win Friday. Jackson Jobe allowed two runs over 5⅓ innings as the Tigers held off a late rally.
Kirby Yates is slated to make his first and only start of the season for Pittsburgh. The 39-year-old has dealt with injuries this summer and is considering retirement after the schedule ends.
