Former WWE wrestler Samuray del Sol is fronting Nissan’s national Frontier campaign while recovering from an injury. He urges aspiring wrestlers to keep a day job rather than rely on wrestling alone, drawing on his own experience.
Del Sol, formerly known as Kalisto in WWE, said Paragon Talent Group, founded by former WWE wrestler Mojo Rawley, helped him get an audition; Nissan selected him. The commercial shows him taking a Frontier V6 to a senior citizens community and a quinceañera.
For a couple of years, Del Sol worked as a special-education teacher and life-skills instructor for people with disabilities, and also worked in site security. He said income from those jobs helped him stay in wrestling; he went all in after wrestling work picked up.
