Chiefs running backs coach DeMarco Murray says rookie Emmett Johnson will continue getting chances, praising his special-teams, blocking and running work. Johnson has 10 touches for 39 yards through two games; Kenneth Walker played 68% of snaps in Week 1 and 83% in Week 2.
Walker has rushed for 290 yards through two games. Murray said he wants Walker to get into a groove and has found him hard to take out. Walker missed 10 games in his first three seasons in Seattle but none last year, when he shared the backfield with Zach Charbonnet. Given that history, the Chiefs could give Johnson more work as the season progresses to help keep Walker healthy.
