Ruud urged Alcaraz to stay calm in Laver Cup win over Fritz

Carlos Alcaraz said Casper Ruud advised him to stay calm, avoid overplaying and trust his better shots in the Laver Cup match tiebreak against Taylor Fritz. Alcaraz won the two-hour contest and said the advice helped him get into rhythm.

Alcaraz also said he spent almost a week without a racket after the US Open, cared for his body and did physical work. He was gradually returning to his normal tennis and physical rhythm, and said practice and small adjustments had made his serve an important weapon.
