Russia and Ukraine reported at least 16 deaths from strikes in 24 hours. Kyiv said Russian attacks killed at least six in Sumy, Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions; Russian authorities and Moscow-appointed officials reported 10 deaths in Russia and occupied Ukrainian areas.
Kyiv said a 17-year-old girl was among those killed and reported several people wounded in Kyiv, a day after a Russian daytime attack there killed seven. Russia said Ukrainian strikes killed four people in Krasnodar and Belgorod. Moscow-appointed Kherson official Vladimir Saldo said a Ukrainian drone hit a cafe in Askaniya-Nova and reported three people killed in the area, including two born in 2004 and 2006. Moscow-appointed official Yevgeny Balitsky reported three killed in occupied Zaporizhzhia.
President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine struck an oil refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar region and a plant in neighboring Rostov region that he said was supplying the occupiers. He called on allies to impose more sanctions on Moscow. US-led talks to end the war have not produced a breakthrough, the report said.
