Before the game, Russell ranked No. 41 in PFN College QB Impact Score, with an 81.7 grade through three games. His touchdown passes traveled 75, 32, 42 and 3 yards; Alabama averaged 8.6 yards per play.
Fans on X called Russell a Heisman frontrunner and said he had “lapped” Arch Manning. One predicted he could become the NFL draft’s first pick and speculated Texas A&M or Texas might offer $15 million next year.
