In 2019, Rose said two herniated discs came close to damaging her spinal cord, and doctors warned she risked paralysis without emergency surgery. In the premiere, she later struggled to lift a heavy bag after a nighttime obstacle course; the other recruits had to keep holding their bags until she finished. Before filming, she told Us Weekly she considered quitting because she feared another injury could undo her progress.
Rose accused “Batwoman”’s production and Warner Bros. Television of unsafe conditions and pressuring her to return after surgery. The studio disputed her account, saying it did not exercise her Season 2 option after reviewing multiple workplace-behavior complaints. The episode referenced Rose’s 2010 sexual-assault allegation against Katy Perry; Perry denied it, and her representative called the claims “categorically false.” Victoria Police confirmed detectives were investigating a report alleging a historical sexual assault at a licensed Melbourne venue. Rose said police asked her not to discuss it publicly while the probe was active; no finding has established the allegation as fact.
