Andy Robertson says Everton bid £750,000 for him at Dundee United in January 2014, proposing a six-month loan back and a later backup role behind Leighton Baines. Dundee United wanted £1.5 million and sold him to Hull for £2.85 million that summer.
Robertson said Everton manager Roberto Martínez watched him play for Dundee United. Hull brought him to English football, and Liverpool signed him for an initial £8 million in 2017; he later won the Champions League and two Premier League titles at Anfield.
