Canucks insider Rick Dhaliwal said Quinn Hughes left Vancouver to pursue winning and escape what he called “chaos,” not because he wanted to leave a Canadian team. Minnesota is trying to re-sign the defenseman, who is under contract through 2027.
Minnesota acquired Hughes from the Canucks in a trade last season. He helped the Wild upset the Dallas Stars and reach the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs before they were eliminated by the Colorado Avalanche.
