One buyer said a house built before 1901 began falling apart within a year; the owners sold it a few years later at a profit because upkeep was too much. A vegetable gardener said the beds needed about an hour of work every other day and produced more than 50 zucchinis one year.
Other commenters described recurring bills: one said servicing a watch such as a Rolex costs $500–$1,000 every two years. One commenter argued that renting a motorhome, or a cabin, was cheaper than owning a motorhome; another suggested having a friend with a boat instead.
