Red Sox say Mickey Gasper left Cubs game with right biceps discomfort

The Red Sox said catcher Mickey Gasper left Friday’s first game of a doubleheader against the Cubs with right biceps discomfort. He exited after striking out in the fifth inning at Fenway Park, and Connor Wong took over behind the plate.

Boston tied the game on Adley Rutschman’s two-run single after Gasper’s strikeout. Gasper had a .251/.357/.466 batting line, 10 home runs and 24 RBIs in 67 games (225 plate appearances) for Boston this season.
