The Rams signed safety Maximus Pulley off the Eagles’ practice squad and added him to their active roster two weeks before visiting Philadelphia in Week 4. The move came after running back Ronnie Rivers was placed on injured reserve with a calf injury.
According to The Athletic’s Zach Berman, the Eagles were excited about Pulley but had no active-roster opening for him amid a crowded safety group that included Andrew Mukuba, Marcus Epps and Kenny Moore. Pro Football Focus listed Pulley as the preseason’s 12th-highest-graded safety; he recorded 16 tackles and five stops.
Pulley joined Philadelphia as an undrafted rookie from Wofford and spent the offseason with the Eagles. At Wofford last year, he had five interceptions, two returned for touchdowns. Rivers had played a key role on the Rams’ special teams.
